Both South Yorkshire and North Derbyshire remain in “Tier 3: Very High Alert”. Running in groups of up to 6 is permitted, so Wednesday evening runs from The Sportsman have been resumed. The meeting point is the car park 70 metres beyond the pub. Details in the Calendar.

There’s a fine selection of Winter TT’s to be completed this month:

Sunday 20^th December – Crookstone Crashout TT and it can only be run on this day. This will be Pete Gorvett’s defence of the Eric Mitchell Trophy. The details of the route are now in the Calendar.

Saturday 26^th December – Boxing Day Bogtrot TT and, as above, it can only be run on this day. The annual thrash across the Burbage moors. One of the checkpoints is Ken’s Cairn which can be tricky to find in mist. Its grid reference is SK 27593 82161 and this is it…

My dog may or may not be there on Boxing Day.

Until Thursday 31^st December – Fairbrook Round TT. This is yet another fine Kinder race, not that I can think of a bad one, with some interesting navigation heading north across the plateau.

Until Thursday 31^st December – Wart’s Revenge TT. A DPFR classic and the perfect antidote to trail running. The going was good to soft and soft in places when I ran yesterday.

The climb up Callow Bank.

Until Thursday 31^st December – Blackamoor to Totley Trig TT – Fast and furious by the look of it.

Until Thursday 31^st December – High Neb TT. Summer Series regulars will know the lines.

Past events:

Edale Circle – This excellent race attracted a very pleasing 37 runners, at least two of whom enjoyed it so much that they returned for a second helping. The outstanding runs were by Majka Kunicka who, running twice, and came tantalisingly close to breaking Karen Dalton’s race record. Toms Saville and Brunt, together with Glen Borrell all sped round in under two hours but Dave Taylor’s outstanding race record of 1:33 wasn’t threatened.
