Wasdale. Lloyd was 1st – is this the first time ever that Dark Peak have won a major Lakeland Classic? and Jackie broke the Ladies record. Karen back as 3rd Lady. An excellent club turnout, 10 of us I think, and a very large, strong field. There were around 150 pre-entry, with many more being taken on the day. The first part of the race was hot, dry and clear, but rain set in after 4hrs, making the rocky boulders around Scafell Pike nasty and slippy, with a careful descent needed. Being wet at the finish, I didn’t note down any times. Joe and Mike were very high, but it’s 4 for the Team, and my 43rd wasn’t good enough to beat Borrowdale. Tom , Jim, Ryan, Liz and Jon were round. Marvellous to have such support for these excellent Lakeland Classics – real fell running.
