The British Championships 2013 , or more correctly the “FRA Championship” – are:-
Ireland – Silent Valley – AM – 13th April
Scotland – AM – may well be Kirk Yetholm – 2nd June.
England – AS – Blisco Dash. 27th July.
Wales – AL – Peris Horseshoe.14th September.
Phil sends:- “YHA booked. Sadly, Jenny will have left by then. A new person/organisation
will have taken over, but Jenny tells me they will honour the pre-bookings;
we’ll have to see though…I have requested the usual 13 places, but Jenny has
pointed out that the number of beds might go down if any alteration takes place.

DT – If you’ve not been over to the Mourne Mountains, and Newcastle, it makes a completely excellent weekend. Page 8 of the last Fellrunner hints that the Championship format for 2014 may alter, so well worth thinking about. The course around the Silent Valley reservoirs may be equalled, but not bettered anywhere. I’m hoping to go, not for points but for a right good time. Flights booked early are cheap – Leeds, Manchester and Liverpool need looking at. Car hire can be shared, and accommodation with the hostel works well.
