For the Skyline, it’s not a great amount of big hills like Lakeland, more a matter of gruelling miles in the legs.
I’m looking at helpful events, some of which may get busy and full.
These are in no particular order, and please help out with other suggestions.
Keep looking at the LDWA Calendar.
Paul Fauset reminds us of Wadsworth Trog – early February? Another good preparation event.
And Black Combe – early March?
The Hebden – Sat. 19th January. 15ml or 22mile. Mytholmroyd. 105 entrants already.
Cannock Trig Points. FRA. Sunday 6th January. 15miles.
LDWA That’s Lyth. Sunday 27th January. 23.5ml, Kendal. It will fill up…
LDWA Rombald’s Stride – Saturday 2nd February. Ilkley Moor. 23 mile. Will certainly fill up, my entry is in….
FRA Long Mynd Valleys – Sunday 10th February. AM, but hard..
Grindleford Gallop – 9th March.
Hopefully Gavin will keep the Edale Circle going again next year…
LDWA Trollers Trot – Sunday 10th March. Wharfedale.
The Trigger Sunday 13th January. 20 miles.
(only 4 places short in 2012…). Get a strong winter in, plenty of miles in the legs – and please remember that it’s not just about scoring team points – spreading the load and pushing other team counters back is just – if not more – as important.
