The Fellsman. – anyone done this? Nicky, of course. “I ran the Fellsman on Saturday along with Steve. The wind was as forecasted – very cold, strengthening and from the NW. We seemed to run into in the whole way round except coming off Whernside where it blew us down. It was a cold slow day especially with the wet conditions underfoot although the ground wasn’t as soggy as back in Sheffield. Overall times were down an hour with Jez Bragg winning in 11.02. I came in in 13.30 hours which considering the conditions I am very pleased with. I was also 1st Lady. The event was pulled at 1am which was obviously a very tough and gut wrenching decision made by the organiser. It was still disappointing for Steve and Neil Drake (who he was grouped with) as they were capable of continuing though They did say that it was -5C, bitterly cold and all the stiles were frozen on the tops. Overall still a marvellous event with great organisation, happy marshals, great food and a good atmosphere"
Three Peaks. – results. Team Prize(s)? “The Men got first team and Yorkshire champs, with Rob Baker 3rd, John Rocke 9th, Oli 12th and Jon Morgan 19th”

The Cheviot:- A good enough race, but a bit of a long trip. 9.7km, whatever that may be in miles. A faint covering of snow up the high bits. An out and back course, so a long slog up, touch the trig point, and back down again. The descent ranks with the very best, soft grassy, peaty, heathery stuff, reminiscent of the Dollar finish. £4.00 for the race, and the entire proceeds going to the Mountain Rescue, who manned the CP’s, so, understandably, minimal prizes. Results.
Runners coming off the top.
Jura – a while off…Dave Sykes is getting around a bit, it seems:- “I’m planning on leaving Sheffield at midday Friday 25th may and getting the Tayvalich crossing at around 6-7pm that night returning on the Sunday morning. Is anyone on the same short time schedule and wish to share? e-mail .
Tuesday – Entries for English Championship AM – Weasdale – can go in. The entry form is to be found here , but no point in upsetting organiser’s by being too hasty…If you’ve not done it, the course is the top part of the Howgills, loads of grassy stuff and a shifting long grassy descent. A good race.
