Kinder Downfall. – provisional results.
Teenager with Altitude – results. “Mixed though ultimately fine weather greeted those of us on the TWA - the Waltzers missed the heavy showers early on. At just a couple of miles longer that the Waltz the Teenager has over twice as much climb and I certainly felt it. A good turnout with Keith doing the first of his double weekend (Kinder Downfall on the Sunday) in the Waltz, a couple in the Junior champs races and the rest of us on the Teenager. Matt took a fall and finished in 9th with a badly gashed hand, Judith had the run of the day to take first lady, first FV40 and knocking a full 20 minutes off the ladies course record, which Nicky also ducked under. Tom Saville took 3rd in the under 18 champs race, and Caitlin Rimmer got some championship points in the under 10s. As for me, I’ll make sure I have a few more Lakes climbs in my legs before this next year – a must do course.”
DT – stuff like this, from Greg, always helps out on somewhere you’ve been….
Dick Hudsons. The first of the BOFRA races – full calendar. It was wet at the start, wet at the far end of Ilkley Moor, and cold, wetter at the finish. Tightly laced up shoes didn’t disappear in the squelch. Later runners would be finishing in the dark, just hope everyone managed to get back safely.
Anniversary Waltz. – results.
Moelwyns. – results.
London Marathon – someone has to do it…(but not Carshare…) . Results. (with a bit of fiddling around.) Our brown vest representative Paul Fauset sends:- “Can I say a quick thanks to DPFR for the club’s one London Marathon place. Had a fantastic day, even heard a few "Go Dark Peak!" shouts along the way, and hobbled in at 3:07:11. Thanks all.”
On Sunday Carshare was originally thinking of venturing up onto Slight Side from Cockley Beck, but probably too wet, slippy and claggy to be of much use. If anyone works hard on Gt Lakes Run, please let me know, and I’ll circulate stuff to DPFR entrants.
Summer Series (2) – Hurkling Howler.
Masson Hill.
Cakes of Bread.
Friday – Chunal.
