World Masters 2010. Zagreb always seemed an awkward journey this year, but next year is much easier. The venue is Korbielow, Poland. SW of Cracow, NW of Zakopane, near the Slovakian border. Site is  www.wmmrc2010.org  but not up & running yet. Date is Saturday September 4th.  Below 55 or 60 (not sure of cut off) do 10km with almost 1000m ascent, 60 & above do 8km with almost as much ascent.  Sounds hard !
But – there are, at present, direct flights from Leeds to Krakow, and Google Maps has it as 114km journey after that. Sounds like a good few days away, especially if flights can be booked early.

Langdale Substitutions. Much as we’d like to fiddle internal substitutions, the organisers have the waiting list, and the correct procedure is to notify the organiser if you’re unable to run. Crafty substitutions will cause trouble…

Saturday –  Three Shires, Entry on Day, points for the Lakeland Classics? It might be right busy, being a similar race to Langdale.
Parking will be at the quarries, Hodge Close, same as last year. This worked fine, but leave extra time for the 15mins walk in. Take all your stuff to the start and leave a bag there – and not the same  bag as everyone else…
route notes  – the weather looks to be set fair, so no real clag problems…
Results:- could someone please copy down from the sticky labels , and send through to the webmaster, as I’ll not be running….

Travel – Willy is driving up with room – see Comments. Hopefully this will help Nick Kirk “seeking to share a lift for the day and return the same day, 07976 264519 or nbkirk@tiscali.co.uk

Mike’s 40th birthday weekend. Hazel sends:” We’re not planning anything big but are hoping that people might be able to stay up in Langdale after Three Shires Race and join us in the Old Dungeon Ghyll for a drink.  Camping is obviously available at the Great Langdale campsite and on Sunday people have the perfect opportunity to recee all or some of the Langdale route. Mike knows about this but what he doesn’t know is that I’m trying to get him a very large collection of beer so if you speak to anybody please ask them to bring a bottle of beer, preferably less than 4.5%.”

Lantern Pike.

Lloyd is running things for the Isle of Man, and some will remember Marcus Scottney, running that long, long thing.(somewhere there is a list of entrants…). And Lizzie will be running…

Sunday:- Dalehead.
              Stanage Struggle
