Slieve Bearnagh:- A right good weekend. Could have done without the Friday am flight being cancelled, as Leeds was fogbound.
Never mind the individual results, just come for the weekend, and the superb Mourne Mountains. We then spent two days in Inishowen, the headland above Derry – worth a visit if anyone wants a change of scenery.
Here’s the photos, if any more tales are to be told, just send them along…
Llantysilio – Results From Pete Hodges:- “On Saturday I rocked up to the race near Llangollen, 6.2m 2100ft. The Llantysilio Mountains aren’t too far from where I grew up so almost a local race for me. Thought I might be first Dark Peak until Al Ward appeared at the start, on his way to Snowdonia for the week. This was a cracking short race, which Tim Davies led from the start to beat the old record by 44secs. The race, which is steep and slightly rocky in places, takes in Moel Morfydd, Moel Gaer and finally up and down Moel y Gamelin. Al and I were together at the top of Moel y Gamelin, but I was far behind by the finish.Must practice running downhill!”
Llangynhafal Results – with John Hunt 2nd…
Pendle – with Tom Edwards, 6th.
Bunny Run (1) Results – the usual frantic mad dash, not too cold at all and firm dry quarries.
Tebay Entry:- Should have gone in by now…If you’ve missed out, get in there fast. I’ve never done the race, don’t know the area, but looking in the Fellrunner description it seems very hard, and were the clag to be down, extremely easy to mess up bigtime. And it’s the only British medium race. I’ll hope to get up for a look, and put out the route notes/photos.
Dentdale Entry:- although there appears to be no limit, well worth putting it in the post. People are receiving their acceptance replies…
