Ashurst Beacon Results – “Actually I was still smarting from last year, being well beaten in the last half a mile in to 2nd. I clearly made the mammoth 50 mile round trip (this is a local race for me) hoping to make your statement correct albeit by adding 12 months on to it. Delighted I got the lone DPFR in to the top place on this occasion, damn near killed me mind, but then that’s racing. “
Lamb’s Longer Leg Results –
White Holme Circular Results:- Guest appearances from Jon (5th) and Greg (36th). At 12miles, more of an accumulation of miles than a fell course. Once up out of the valley, a long trek round the NoonStone reservoir tracks and conduits. Cold and windy, and enough bogs and peat to keep it interesting, with a Krypton Factor pipe balance thrown in, to avoid the splodges. Worth doing, for it being the longer race.
An “apology” at the start from the organiser, saying that once out of the valley – no drinks, no marshals, no tape, nothing. Which was rightly acclaimed with cheers.
