Club Championships:- I’ve left this on in case any Comments are forthcoming…
From Nigel:- “Just like to say a big thank you to all the organisers and helpers on Saturday. Not nice weather so much appreciated that they stood around for so long, especially at the Downfall. Despite my 3 years residence in Edale, my southern flatland legs, a thigh deep submergence in a bog, a ducking in Fairbrook and a bit of wandering around on Kinder resulted in a very poor showing. Perhaps next years champs could be a 5 mile road race so I can redeem myself!! “
DT – A road race Club Championship, there’s an idea. Not sure what would be worse, that or a Cross Country course…
Tour of Pendle Results:- Very wet and heavy, but mostly clear of the threatened clag. This is some hard race. Matt was an impressive 6th, in a class field and a tough race. Steve Storey 17th and 2nd V50. Joe “blew up” on that last huge climb. If ever an example is needed as to how to put on a proper race, this is it. £5.00, T shirt to everyone, loads and loads of prizes in every category. Well organised as ever, immediate results, cheap cakes, drinks and soup. Pity about the clash with the Club Championships…

2009:- A long way off, but I’ve been asked to put out a reminder about the Cannock Chase Trig Points Race. ” The Trig race is on, and with cheaper entry fee!, next year Sunday 11th January.” Entry Form, Details
DT – really worth going to, just what’s needed early in the year to get things moving. I can help if any Route Notes are needed…
Just hope that the traditionally excellent baking is up to its high standard for afters…
Not to forget Kinder Trial entries, in due course, another early race…Is it being held next year? Not on FRA website Calendar?
Three Peaks 2009 pleased to see that it returns to a “navigational event”. Entries are from January, but £16.00 ?????
And if ? it’s the week before British AL, Stuc a Chroin, who’s doubling up???
