Kentmere Results:-
Photos:- A class set of photos has come through from Rossendale (after all my moanings about a certain runner from that club….)
“I couldn’t run at Kentmere (want to clear an injury as much as possible for Borrowdale) so I went up High Street and took some photos instead. There’s a few of you DP lot on there.”
So many thanks for a great set of photos.
A marvellous mass travelling turnout, full cars in plenty – the only way to be doing things. Keep the sharing going! Not a troubled start, soon away up the lane, and up to the ridge seemed to go at the right pace. No problems route finding, though it would be nasty in the clag. Lots of runnable stuff, as an AM course it doesn’t get much better.
So see you all at Borrowdale. And DT is hoping for 100% clag…..
Looks like 1st V40 and 1st V50 teams….. That is 3 maximum points for the V40’s, but we need another, as Borrowdale are far ahead on countback, and their race to come. Everyone at Dufton? The V50’s are well placed, but need at least another first place.
How to get round the BG…:- Steve Matthews has “written up my training/kit/nutrition notes from this years successful BG. Anyone who is interested is welcome to contact me at steversmatt@hotmail.com and I’ll send them out (as .pdf), “
DT – I’m thinking that all this will also be in a future DP News….
Lakeland Classic Individual results ….after Wasdale. Janet is 3rd : Matt – 10th : Mick Cochrane – 1st V60 : Nicky – 1st LV40, but they’ve done all three Superlongs, a huge achievement in itself. Many others have done the required 2 Superlongs, and just need one more, from Borrowdale, Three Shires and Langdale.
Team Results:- First ……Is this the year?
Shining Tor Results :- “An excellent all runnable 6 mile route this year with 1600ft climb, most of it straight up to Shining Tor at the Start. The tiredest I’ve felt after a race all season, and the long swim in the Reservoir afterwards was even more welcome than the flapjack and chocolate rice cripsy cake.” – thanks, Andy.
Richard Snowden’s BG:- “Despite grotty weather and a dodgy stomach I got round in 22hrs 46mins, – finished 7.16am Sunday.
The hardest but one of the most enjoyable things I’ve done. A great support team, all from Totley AC – and I even had Don “I dont run”
Longley dragging me along at the finish! Mark Wilson did 2 legs with me and Mark Buskwood got me over Broad Stand – which resembled a waterfall!” So many congratulations to Richard, and everyone involved.
Great Hucklow Results:-
Hathersage Hilly Triathlon:- “Over 270 entries, fantastic weather for it, lots of praise for the bike / run routes (can’t really do much about routes in the pool!) A few DP’s. Congratulations to Janet who won the women’s and in 17th overall and 7th fastest time on the run overall!
Simon Patton 7th o/a and 1st M40
Mike McIver 12th o/a and 2nd M40
