Sunday 20th April in Graves Park Sheffield is “Theo’s 10k Race and 2k family Fun Run” .One of Lynn’s Norton Wheelers cycling team “is a doctor at the hospital and he asked me to try to get a few Dark Peakers to support it. The proceeds from this race go to the Sheffield Children’s Hospital Charity –details  .  You can enter online or pick up an entry form from the club hut. I have never done it but It says the course is undulating and in and around Graves Park. Although they are encouraging people to get sponsorship if you just take part some of your entry will go to the charity so don’t be put off.”

Derwent Dambuster Challenge. Richard Hopkinson reminds that it will be held this year on Saturday 26th April, details here.  And as good causes go, they don’t come any more worthwhile than Challenge Cancer Through Adventure.

43rd Great Knaresborough Bed Race:-  After that success on the Great Edale Beer Barrel Race, Carshare wonders whether the team can beat Harrogate on this prestigious event. It involves a lap of the town, a steep climb up a street, then you have to get the bed across the substantial river…with someone on top.

High Peak Marathon:-  Start list is up for the watershed (7-8th March). Stacks of Dark Peak names in there including at least a couple of 100% DP teams.
Thanks to Steve Matthews. And hoping I don’t get that last minute “call in the night”.
