Kendal Winter League These are weekly races through the winter, details etc are on the link. All EOD if you’re up there. Just seems an excellent idea, something that the Peak could take on? First race results , Scout Scar, will be on DP results. Mike and Ambleside Tim being regulars, but perhaps more can get involved?
Moz’s Run. A much more preferable run than Ovenden. Any Comments? Thanks to Gavin for his….and an apt reply from Phil – just the kind of stuff that adds interest to everything.
Isle of Man Race New Year’s Day, but never mind. Lloyd and Jackie starting the year off in style, both setting new records. They’ve also made it to the BBC….
Ovenden Results:- Another windy, cold battered trip over these bleak moors, very wet, peaty and muddy. Only me there, but such an arduous trip up from Sheffield.
The organiser’s race report has “Among the women, Jo Buckley ran away from the rest, hopefully being careful not to trip and fall on her bump….” So many congratulations to Jo from Carshare, and so many of DPFR.
Shining Cliff Results. Most welcome news from Trevor Milner:- “A great day to be on t’fell but I had a jaunt down the hill for a thrash round Shining cliff woods, sadly no longer shining due to arboreal intrusion but still sports a couple o good routes. Anyway a lot of roadies leaving the black tar river for a good double dash round the woods, but some, not following the direction arrows did shorter circuits and one or two folk kissed the causey! Notably Maurice West who tried to rearrange his ribs on a stump, luckily just a graze. Jacky Smith took 1st FV50 and I’m 1min/mile quicker than last year.”
Grassington Aircraft Wrecking. Ian won’t have found this one , another tragic accident high up on these moors. Some bleak heather bashing up here, and loads of lead mines all around.
