Fairmile Downhill Championships 1.3 miles 1500ft . “Mike Robinson sends:- “Superb race ran in glorious weather, somewhere in the Howgills. A simple format, register, allow a good half an hour to walk to the top of a hill and then set off in one minute intervals. A relatively small field for the inaugural run but I’m sure there will be plenty more next year.”
The Stoop:- Results. Perishing cold on the top of those quarries to start, and the usual trip somwhere into those moors. Cold, frozen with icy bits among the peat. First was Andi Jones, only me and Joe (2nd V40) there, and also Lewis travelling across.
The Pertex award would most definitely go to the English V40 Champion, and previous winner of 10 times, who turned up for a 12:00 start, instead of 11:30. But on the results sheet I’ve finished ahead of him……….but only just….
Three Peaks:- ” The website shows:-” We expect to be in a position to accept approximately 100 additional entries for the 2008 race in the New Year. These entries will be taken from a waiting/Reserve list with priority given to English Championship contenders and long term supporters of the Three Peaks Race. The Entry Secretary’s decision on entries will be final.” (and there will be substitutions, as usual.)
