Three Peaks Entry:- Now being taken – http://www.threepeaksrace.org.uk/  And looking now,  650 already gone…Not sure about their “enhanced prize list” though, the V60 category is thinner than last year.

Midweek Running:- On Tuesday Roy Gibson and Ian Winterburn ran over Blackhill and down to Dean Clough before returning to Crowden, very foggy on the top and very heavy underfoot. Still quite a bit of snow up there. Ian will be going out to recce Bleaklow on Thursday  from Torside visitors centre if any one is interested. 9.45-10.00

Winter Mondays  “Race 4 – Bar Dyke starting from Bolsterstone. This is the longest race of the  Winter Monday series and the hilliest at 7.5 miles and 1250ft of climbing . There was some discussion before the race as to who was favourite as every one had a twinge or a pull or had been at Pendle and had tired legs, this soon became irrelevant as first Shaun Dimelow turned up and then Nick Swift. We had three starts with the ‘Least fast’ getting an 8 minute start over the ‘fast’ group with the ‘very fast’ (Shaun, Nick and Darren) going a few minutes later. Shaun and Nick soon blew the largest field this year of 16 runners away. Nick eventually winning by 2 minutes in 47.00  from Shaun 49.00 with Darren third. Jim, Russ, Keith and Ian followed in within a minute of each other. If any one wants to get some winter speed in their legs then the Monday night are for you. Hill training next week with the next race the week after.”
