The Margery hill race has been run for 35 years, and originally after Cranberry Clough it went down the road to West end and up to Alport Castles, a great climb and before the paving stones a great fast finish but the recent route provided a tough return without road.
I appreciate the love people have for the race and this year’s outing was intended as a one off change, providing a tough start to Howden and High stones and a fastish (depending on route choice) back. The race will be hard enough though a bit shorter. I recognise some folks will have liked the fast running all the way to Margery and to Cranberry.
I hope runners will have a go at the planned route, however if you choose to run the original I will accept your free choice.
Andy.
