Some of you might have noticed that there is a new race from the Sportsman in the calendar for next Wednesday (5th). The Bole Hill Bad Boy is a reincarnation of what I believe used to be a standard club run. The route is 12 miles and 2,500 feet and links Lodge Moor and Totley Bole Hills. It combines field path in Mayfield, open moorland over Houndkirk, tough woodland path in Blackamoor with the icing on the cake being heather heath up to Totley Bole Hill. Then return via Houndkirk and Ox Stones. I guess the winner will be close to 1.5 hours and some people will need 2.5 hours. There will be a 6.15 and a 6.30 start. Depending what time I get away from work on Wednesday I will minimally tape the ascent and descent of Totley Bole Hill. Maps will be issued at the start.

Look forward to seeing you there.

George
