The “old” Stanage Pole was removed earlier this year as it was dangerous i.e. on the point of falling down; plans to replace it are well under way, with steel and ironwork designed, and a larch log for the actual pole being prepared. However, although a lot of the work will be given free of charge there is still a need for money to complete the job.
