Mellow fruitfulness… The time for DPFR’s rites of autumn is upon us again. The classic Royal Dungworth race will be run on Saturday, September 26, with start time at 11 a.m. Debriefing will take place, as usual, in The Royal from midday onwards. Dorothy Harper, a great friend and fan of the event, died aged 92 in April this year, and her family have generously funded in her memory a trophy for the ‘first lady’ competitor. A splendid silver salver now complements the Granville Harper memorial shield, paid for many years ago by Dorothy herself, for the overall winner. It is hoped that this will entice bigger than usual female participation in this year’s race. The organising committee look forward to seeing you there.
