Could be a very exciting 18 hours or so …
Lucy Spain (Pennine), Wil’s better half, went through Threlkeld about an hour ago on her schedule to take a few minutes off Nicky’s BG women’s record. She’s hoping to be back at the Moot Hall about 9pm and you can follow her progress here.
Glen Borrell and Laurence Piercy (we think) left the Glen Nevis YHA at 1am this morning on an unsupported crack at the Ramsay – albeit with Tim Rippon somewhere on hand to offer encouragement and abuse in his own distinctive style. Given the difficult ‘comms’ in the area, we’re not expecting any more news on this until Sunday morning.
And last but not least, our NI mate from across the water, Dale Mathers, and our very own Kirk Hardwick, are currently fifteen or so hours into the Lakeland 100 and holding down top twenty places. If you’re stalking us, Denise, do give Dale a big brown-vested hug from us all … notwithstanding the clear absurdity of running a hundred miles without ever visiting a hill-top. You can see a live leaderboard here.
The very best of luck to all five. Hero(in)es all in my book, whatever transpires today.
