Just two Carshare fixtures to go and we’ve doubled the number of qualifying runners this year.  The inaugural end of season Carshare League Awayday Weekend, which coincides with the final league fixture on Saturday 18th October, The Screes from Strands Inn, Nether Wasdale, is filling up fast (there’s at least, ooh, half a dozen people who’ve expressed an interest now), so do let me know if you’re interested and might consequently have to actively organise something.   Note also that Dr Dave is angling to bring his young uns, so it might yet transform into a full on family away day weekend.

The plan is to run the race, partake of the Strands Inn’s liquid refreshment, camp somewhere close (or else repair direct to the Howgills), breakfast accordingly the following morning, then take to the hill again on Sunday 19th to offer wisdom and abuse in equal measures to the many fine DP athletes doing battle in the FRA Relays.  One or two of our party might even, should circumstances so transpire, find their way as travelling reserves onto the ‘C’ team entered for the relays this year.  In which case we’d have a very difficult judgment to make as to the optimum consumption of beer and breakfast in advance of doing right by club and country.

Expressions of interest via calendar@dpfr.org.uk or stalk me on the facebook site.  Willy.
