“Annual club camping weekend at Thornbridge Hall for all the family. Usual fun and games including: Ashford-in-the-Water fell race (finishing in-the-water), kids Sat pm fell race, Friday night pie & peas with a pub quiz – see separate news story, and let Tim know if you will be attending, cake & cava in the Sat late afternoon sunshine (possibly), BBQ Sat night (bring something to blacken), kids & big kids cyclo cross race on the Sunday I think (again, to be confirmed), and plenty of opportunities to cycle on the Monsal trail, or run off your hangover on Longstone Edge on the Sunday morning. All welcome, especially new members, and do bring kids and partners. The facilities are remarkably sophisticated for a DP event (industrial kitchen, cutlery and everything), so much so that some have even been known to leave with a smile on their faces. Last year it was £10 per adult per night/day and £5 for kids. In Kirsty’s absence, Andy Barnatt is in charge this year (hence the large number of vague and unconfirmed activities), but with the number of old lags fighting over BBQ lighting rights, it can only be alright on the night … and all being well, Kirsty will sort Andy out before she goes jetting off to the States.
