Course set. Sunshine ordered. Sunlit moonrise on standby. Marshall and Barnett in pole position for the title, but others in with a sniff if they play their cards right. All welcome. If you’ve not done it before, the format is that you turn up at Burbage North bridge, pay £1 for a full colour map, follow the simple instructions and sharpen your navigational skills by finding your way quickly around the controls. It’s designed to be a hybrid of rough fell running and basic orienteering. If you know how to read a map, you’re elegible, (whoops, does that rule out half the club?). Please remember to bring a compass – you will need it to find some of tonight’s controls. Hopefully you won’t need a map bag, but I have just a few left at 50p cost price just in case. The course is tailored to cope with the limited daylight, but we will need a prompt 6.45 start to make the most of it. Latecomers may be allowed to start at the organiser’s discretion, but may also find themselves penalised a wee bit! DH
