It has been brought to my attention, that there is a move by Dave Jones to call an EGM of the FRA. The prime reason being to discuss whether the FRA should break away from UK Athletics. It is not mine nor DPFRs responsibility to try to influence what must be a members individual decision, but I would urge all FRA members within DPFR to wait until the February Edition of Fell Runner Magazine, when the FRA will respond to Dave’s accusations and reasons for calling the EGM. An FRA sub-Committee has been appointed, on which sits our own Paul Sanderson as well as several other well respected members of the FRA, to investigate fully the implications of a break away. So I see no reason to short cut what will be a thorough investigation and maybe come to an incorrect decision which in the long run would not be beneficial to our sport.
