Newlands Memorial – 2nd English Championship race of the season. Results
Rob Little and Rhys Findlay-Robinson using combined tactics at Newlands last weekend.
Past Races
Wirksworth Incline – Izzy-mai Wilson 2nd woman Results

Tiger’s Trail – Wins for both Fran Collett and John Crewe and a fine result for Tori King who was 2nd V40. Also of note was Mick Stenton’s return to racing and 3rd M60. Kudos to all four. Results

Cakes of Bread – Tom Westgate writes: “We were blessed with a cool and dry evening for the race this year.  The route continues to challenge folk to prove their lines are the quickest.  The proportion of fast running is high with the odd bit of “sub vertical heather” thrown in.  Certainly in the debrief at the Yorkshire Bridge all the talk was of the merits, or otherwise, of different lines.  The other point of conversation was of Despina’s outright win,  probably a first in the annals of Dark Peak unless I am told otherwise.  Notable runs also by Bradbury, Woods and Small with Graham Berry finishing in good order as the first octogenarian. Spare a thought (fat chance) for the Race Organiser who managed to get off line traversing around Lost Lad.  On the bird front we had Skylarks,  Curlew calling over the Cakes and Pike Lowe and Greylag / Canada Geese flying over Pike Lowe.” Results

Herod’s Farm – 1st woman Izzy-mai Wilson, Tom Perry 3rd and Henry Webb 9th. Results

Upcoming races
Monday 21st April – Trunce 2

Saturday 26th April – Eskdale Elevation, a Lakeland AL. I’ve not run it bit have only ever heard good things about it.

Saturday 26th April – Kinder Springs. Dark Peak race from Birchin Clough. Highly recommended.

Sunday 4th May – Kinder Downfall

12th July – Wasdale.
Laurence Piercy writes “I’ve booked the FRCC hut at Wasdale Head for the Wasdale Horseshoe race meet. Folk can get in touch with me (email laurencepiercy@hotmail.co.uk) for a bed.” – Wasdale Horseshoe is not only one of the Lakeland Classics, it’s also one of the finest of all fell races which every self respecting fell runner needs on their curriculum vitae. Brackenclose, the Fell & Rock Climbing Club hut at Wasdale Head, is one of the best such huts to be found and is but a stone’s throw from the race start. Entries are open on SiEntries.
