Please see below final details for the Club Champs tomorrow from Dave Sykes, and a copy of the final start list. Due to the forecast weather conditions, please bear in mind that the kit requirements listed are an absolute minimum. You must exercise your own judgment and responsibility to determine what extra kit you require in addition and whether you are happy to race.

Hi All,

A few words about tomorrow’s club champs.

Clearly the forecast is for poor weather and the crux of the day may well be getting over Moscar to the parking. Please allow plenty of time to drive out, park and 5 minutes to walk to the start, arriving with at least 5 minutes to spare. Remember to try and carshare.

The Met Office forecast says ‘Spell of heavy snow likely Saturday morning, before a rapid rise in the freezing level leads to rain at all levels and a rapid thaw. This will be accompanied by very strong winds, with persistent cloud obscuring any higher routes.’

The wind will be Southerly 10 gusting 20mph. Increasing to Southeasterly 30 gusting 40-50mph.
Windchill be as low as -8°C.

You must wear or carry full body cover waterproofs, hat, gloves, map, compass and whistle and have an extra mid-layer top (this can be worn or carried). A survival bag is recommended. NO KIT NO RUN.

At the current time of writing the start and finish may relocate to a car by the bridge.

The checkpoints have been placed so you can avoid ridge running – I would suggest you do.
Remember to say thanks to the marshals.

Hope we all have a good day tomorrow.
Dave
