Induvidual and team standings for the English Fell Championships have been updated following Sedbergh Hills fell race.
With one round remaining of the championship the results are beginning to shape up. However, lots remains in play for Shelf Moor on Peak District terrain.
Teams
Dark Peak Women lead the Open Team championship, mathematically uncatchable by Ambleside, following wins at Long Mynd, and Chapelfell and second places at Fairfield, Duddon Valley and Sedbergh. The Women’s V40 team also have a comfortable lead in their catagory over Mercia Fell runners!
In the Men’s open catagory Keswick AC are unfortunately now unbeatable with another round of the championship remaining. However, winning the teams at Fairfield and Chapelfell Top has put the team clearly in second.
The Men’s V40 team sit in third in their championship and the V50 team are currently in fourth. The Men’s V60 team hasn’t been able to get full teams out for many races, but still sit fourth in their championships.
Induvidual highlights
Finlay Grant currently sits third in the men’s open championship and leads the U23 championship, a category where four of the top six compete for Dark Peak. Oli Johnson and Will Boothman sit third and fourth in the V40 championship, and Will is second in the V45 catagory. John Hunt leads the V55 catagory comfortably and following David Tait’s performance at Chapelfell he leads his V75 championship.
Phillipa Williams and Lisa Watson are 7th and 8th in the women’s championship. A remarkable achievement for Phillipa given she has only completed three rounds, all of which she won.
