Hello Everyone,

The beer is bought so all we need now is some people to drink it at the
Bamford Camping Weekend. We are well overdue a change in the weather so
get your tents out of the garage and yourselves out to Bamford Recreation
ground on Friday 18th August (just ten days away). Camping is available
from 4:30pm on Friday evening. The charge for camping is £7/night for
adults over 18. Children go free. Please pay with cash or bank transfer
into the DPFR account.

Remember the great Two Cloughs Race (8 kL with 2 big climbs and no rough ground)
on Saturday morning complete with a river finish at the campsite.
The race starts at 10:30am.
The start is 15-20 minutes walk from the campsite so we will, as a group,
leave just after 10:00 to walk up through the village.
David Hakes is RO for the race and remember you can come and do the race
even if you are not camping for the weekend.

The race route is as follows :-

Start grid Ref. 20874 83616 Bottom of Bamford Clough
CP 1 21089 84703 point 426 Bamford Edge Summit
CP 2 20892 85919 Path/Stream Junction
CP 3 19819 84978 Yorkshire Bridge
CP 4 18681 85089 Win Hill Trig point
CP 5 20446 83391 Stepping Stones Bamford Mill
Finish 20548 82787 Middle of River at our Campsite

Because the weather has been unreliable this year we could do with a
couple of extra gazebos so that we can create a bit of sheltered communal
space. We could also do with extra BBQ capacity if anyone can bring out
a kettle type BBQ. We can’t use single use devices on the ground because
we don’t want any burnt grass. As always people with children might like
to bring along sundry games or play equipment.

If you can help with any of the above let me know on 07538575848 call or
text.

Bring your own food for the BBQ and any extra drinks if you don’t drink beer.
Saturday evening BBQ lighting should be about 6:30pm or a bit earlier if
there are young children to feed.

Beer available from 7pm on Friday and Saturday.
