English Championships

James Lowe reports elsewhere that “Fairfield Results (are) in. I make us first men’s team and second women’s with another cracking win (by 6 minutes!!!) from Phillipa Williams and a stonking 5th and 1st U23 for Fin Grant! A huge turnout from the club and lots of great performances, amazing team effort!”. At the sharp end of the men’s race Finlay Grant was 5th and 1st MU23 with Nathan Lawson 8th, Edward Corden 12th and 3rd MU23 with Bertie Houghton 14th. As above, Phillipa won the won’s race by a whopping 5 minutes 52 seconds and has now won both of the English Championship medium counters. Despina Berdini was 14th, Lisa Watson 16th with Sally Fawcett 25th and 5th W40. In the age categories Will Boothman was 3rd M45, John Hunt 1st M55, Joe Blackett 5th M55, Andy Barnett 9th M60, Keith Holmes 8th M65, Rachel Rose 6th W40 and last, but by no means least, Jane Crowson was 2nd F60. Stirring stuff! Provisional results here.
