We have received this email from "Ride Sheffield":
This week, Sheffield City Council have begun an assault on Houndkirk Moor, re-surfacing the natural sand and rock features with red brick pebble material.

This is very different to the work that they advertised of using ‘natural materials’ to encourage the public to stick to the track.

I can’t see how this is going to benefit any user group of the moor.     You should go and see the destruction yourself and if you don’t like it, we need to join forces to put massive pressure on the council to undo the damage and prevent this kind of destruction in the future.

There is a balance between erosion control and maintaining natural beauty, which SSC don’t seem to get.

If you have any comments, or more knowledge about what is going on please let Bob Berzins know, either in person or via email
