Can I commend the following event to fellow Dark Peakers?

It’s
some years since we had a relay team in this because it used to clash
with the Calderdale (I think) but now with a new date it has to be the
event to do and win! The Relay is in 8 stages and is won in about 6
hours

The 2009 Rowbotham’s Round Rotherham International Trail Event of 80 km, 50 miles, an
undulating route through the South Yorkshire Forest (The area
designated as The South Yorkshire Forest is mainly rural land rather
than a vast area of woodland) on Saturday, 17th October, 2009 from Dearne Valley College

Starts: Walkers 6AM, Runners 7AM, Relay 8AM

The
Round Rotherham is a qualifying event for the Ultra-Trail du
Mont-Blanc®, can also be used as a qualifying event for the LDWA
100-mile event and is used as a training event for the Marathon de
Sables. Bob Berzins and Alan Yates have completed ten events.
Kev Saville attempted this event after a Firm’s Do & ~10 pints,
Andy Forsyth won the event in 1986 in a time of 6 hours 38. This will
be my tenth event.

Good food, great support and varied terrain
and scenery, surprisingly interesting and enjoyable! There are about
250 individual entries so far, no Relay info is displayed, but there
were 20 teams in last year

There’s loads of information on here http://www.hmarston.co.uk/rhac/trail/rrr.htm
