This year the dinner will be on Saturday November 14th at Low Bradfield Village Hall, 6.30 for 7pm (earlier start to allow a bit more time for drinking etc.). There will be a bar by Bradfield Brewery. The dinner will be followed by a ceilidh with the Rhythm Chaps (as per last year) and, of course, kilts will be optional but preferred.

The cost is £25 per head, (£5 cheaper than last year, deflation for you!).

The menu is shown below. I’ve still to finalise a few details regarding the actual menu but it will be a sit down meal with waiter/waitress service, followed by the usual speeches from our Chairman and the awarding of the coveted “Pertex” trophy and then the ceilidh until midnight at least. There is a bus service that runs from the Village Hall to Hillsborough around about midnight and there is ample space for camper vans to park up for the night, although tents might be problematic!

So far the menu looks like this:

Starter

*   Warm 3 Cheese Tartlet  with Pesto & Wild Rocket Salad
*   Soup – details to be sorted shortly

Main Course

*   Vegetarian Option – Warm Brie & Red Onion  Filo Tart
*   Slow Braised Lamb Shank in Rich Minted  Gravy
*   Fresh Salmon Fillets in a Champagne & Dill  Sauce

Desserts

*   Chocolate Belgian with Raspberries  and Cream
*   A pie of some sort with custard ( for the  hungrier people!)

If you wish to reserve a place, please e.mail Chris Barber, c.p.barber@leeds.ac.uk with the heading DPFR Club Dinner (so it will sort them for me) or phone 0114 221 8040. Please fill in your choices on this form and send to Chris.  Meanwhile, if you wish to send payment to me or give to me at the club hut, make cheques payable to “DPFR” (£25 per head). If Chris is not at the club hut then please pay Lynn Bland, who will pass your details to Chris.
