The Ireland weekend as good as ever! Only a short course, but as hard as they come, three big hills, hard descents and no flat. It rained before we started, rained after but held off during the race. A unique start, with a chorus of Irish songs from the locals, until they were out of breath climbing. 2nd Vets and Seniors Teams, behind Borrowdale in both. There is an unofficial British V50 grouping, and we were 1st in that. No Ladies running. Dave Taylor 3rd V40, Steve Storey and Mike Egner 4th and 5th V50. Most pleasing was the bottle of wine for having the 2nd highest number of travelling participants.
The Youth Hostel photos will appear within Carshare/Members. Next year should be the classic Donard – Commedagh AM race,I can’t recommend the weekend highly enough.
