The annual club championship and dinner will soon be upon us: this year the champs will be the classic triple crossing of Kinder Scout starting at the Nag\’s head at Edale, handicap times will be arranged!
The \’not to be missed\’ club dinner, in the evening, will be at the Maynard Arms at Grindleford at 7 for 7.30 pm with the downstairs bar open until at least midnight.
The cost is £30 per head which I\’m informed is similar to the cost of previous events with inflation and the credit crunch and the fall of Lehman Brothers taken into account.

Carnivorous Option
Ham Hock Terrine with Caper salad and a piccalilli dressing
Roast Rib of Beef served with roast potatoes and Yorkshire pudding
Sticky Toffee Pudding with butterscotch sauce and clotted cream
Vegetarian Option
Hummus Fritters served with a tomato jam
Pumpkin Risotto served with a sage and onion salad
Sticky Toffee Pudding with butterscotch sauce and clotted cream
The post prandial evening\’s entertainment will start with the Chairman\’s (hopefully brief) speech and then the presentation of the Pertex trophy for gross incompetance (sic) on the hills (yes, it is spelt incorrectly on the trophy), hopefully by its incumbent, Mr Saville. Following this there will be a wild and uninhibited ceilidh with the Rhythm Chaps until midnight. Please note that the wearing of kilts by the males is considered highly appropriate but will involve a kit check with a mirror on a stick!

This will reserve you a place but it will only be confirmed when you have given me the dosh.
