The Uphill Masters – another completely excellent event this year. Dolni Morava is a remote mountain village, forestry and winter ski-ing. They\’d put enormous effort into staging the race, superbly organised and a credit to the host nation. A hard course, 5km flattish and 5km up those ski slopes – much harder in 30degrees plus of sun and heat. The evening excelled, some usual locally flavoured entertainment, awards etc. Later on we missed \”Hanky Panky\” – the midnight transvestite act, and Elvis was on stage about 1am.The music calmed down about 4am… Certain notable Fellrunner dignitaries prominent as the night wore on, it seems….
Ist V75 for Alex Menarry, 1st V60 Team (I was 14th and 5th Counter, 3 to count…)3rd for Ben Grant, Evelyn Dugdale, Craig Robert,and others…
So next year it\’s a similar early September in Zagreb, Croatia – can\’t recommend the Uphill Masters highly enough. Full results
