I should have headlined two superb individual results,1st by Janet and 2nd by Lloyd. Heavy showers as we drove across, but these faded away, just leaving the ground very heavy from Bessyboot, and very slippy on the rocks. The clag on the tops caused problems for many : leaving Scafell Pike, dropping off Gable – and for me and several others, heading for Base Brown from Green Gable. Many locals seem to have wandered badly.
Another extremely supportive turnout, for this classic fell course. Seems like all out Teams were 2nd : Seniors behind Borrowdale, as were the Vet 40\’s. V50\’s were behind CFR, despite Alan Yates provisional result as 1st V60, and at long, long last we had a Ladies Team, behind Ambleside.
As always very well organised, unlimited refreshments, and a prize list second to none. Well worth echoing the organiser\’s request to support Rathbones in Keswick, for their involvement in the race. So just one more to go – Dufton!
