After a three month hiatus since the last club race, Crookstone Crashout on 20th December, it’s great that racing, albeit in TT form, can resume tomorrow. The guidance from the Government website (https://www.gov.uk/guidance/national-lockdown-stay-at-home#stay-at-home ) includes the following:

  • you will be able to meet outdoors either in a group of 6 (from any number of households), or in a group of any size from up to 2 households (each household can include existing support bubbles, if eligible)
  • you will be able to take part in formally organised outdoor sports with any number of people (outdoor sports venues and facilities will be able to reopen)

Wednesday runs from the Sportsman and elsewhere restart this week. Runners need to pre-register via a link in the Calendar so as to divide runners up into groups of 6 or less.

Past events

Nicky Spinks’s Winter Mondays series concluded last Monday with Simon Dixon (the fast one!) winning the league. Summer Series starts tomorrow details of which are on Nicky’s runbg website.

Upcoming events

There are now four TT’s in the Calendar for April with plenty more in the pipeline. The first of these is Kinder Killer which opens tomorrow and remains so for three weeks. The known age group records for runners to aim for are:

Men open 5:43:26

Women open 7:08

M40 6:34

M45 and F45 7:56

M55 8:00 (This by a Pennine runner which needs sorting out!)

M60 8:21

Several of these must be vulnerable and the other categories are waiting to be filled.

Sunday 11 April – Hoppit’s Hill, 5.6km of pleasure up in Spinks country.
