30 hardy runners tackled Race 7 of Tha Sprunce. Underfoot conditions varied over the course of the week from reasonable when I ran it last Saturday to “sloppy” later on. Pete Davies recorded the fastest time this week (32:06) and Sally Fawcett went sub 40 as promised, lowering her own women’s course record (39:46) in the process, something which she has managed to do most if not every week throughout the series. Pete Gorvett won the handicap by a handful of seconds from Pete Davies with Ken Jones in third who, I’m glad to report “… actually stayed on (his) feet throughout”.

Race 8, over the same route, is open and we’ll move on to Route 3 from next Friday, 17th July. Details in the Calendar.2020-07-11--Sprunce-Race-7.jpg-web.png
