SYO\’s regional event on 27th January will be effectively a Dark Peak event. Lucy Wiegand is organising, Peter Gorvett is planning the courses and Neil Northrop is producing a great new map. (Tim Tett drew the original more than 20 years ago).
It is being held in \”Tankersley Woods\”, just north of Chapeltown, with access just off the A61 to parking in Westwood Country Park. The area has been worked for coal and iron, which has left a complex landscape full of the scars of hand-hewn \”bell-pits\” and other ancient earth-works from 19th century (but with lots of paths). Internet pre-entries for age-class courses close on 18th January but there will be entries on the day for colour-coded courses.
