Whittle Pike:- Looking at the V50 Team results, three non-counters, Martin, Ashley and Keith, got in the way of 2nd place Pennine’s third runner. That’s the complete value of having depth in the Team. So teams out at Sedbergh?
Lloyd 1st, Mick – 2nd V50, and Judith – 6th (1st LVet). Hot, hard running around Rossendale. A few boggy bits, and enough hidden holes to cause trouble. Lloyd made the most of his opportunity to come home first, so all now depends on Sedbergh, the final English (also British 3rd race). A first Championship race for Peter Stenton, good to have you along.
The V50’s, as throughout the year, turned out in strength and depth – 7 runners, and were 1st, so congratulations to all, counters and team members, having won the English Championships. To be hoped we get a Relay Team allowed…

Lakeland Classics after Wasdale:- So far, so good, but having Borrowdale as a Superlong isn’t going to help….
Mike – 2nd, John Hunt – 4th : John Coe – 8th.
Team is well clear - Duddon (89pts) : Ennerdale (94pts) : Wasdale (88pts). But when Borrowdale drop Wasdale (76pts), their 94pts from Duddon, added to their own race, will put them looking very strong.
