Cardington Cracker – a long way to South Shropshire, but it’s one of the very, very best AM races going…Results …and a couple of travellers…
"I set off from Sheffield to share a lift with a friend from Derby, Tim Oakes. Half way down the M1 I nearly decided to turn back due to the treacherous icy conditions on the M1. With only 30 minutes to spare we arrived in Cardington after a careful drive, registered, quickly got changed and dashed to the start. After all that I’m glad I made the journey. It packed in a number of steep climbs and with great wintery conditions made for a great race and day out. In places it was a little icy, especially on some of the descents, but this added to the experience. I would recommend this race to anyone, especially at this time of year when there are no other quality AM races around."
Nick Kirk on the top of Caradoc, having come from Lawley (behind him). Classic fell running country…
