From Rhys:- “Leg 1 went smoothly enough, no problems nav’ing in the mist and we got down Red Screes with little more than a cut hand . Leg 2 had some nav problems. Leg 3 made up some places, but though Rob and Oli stormed up St Sunday Crag and hauled us back into 3rd place, Rob had a nasty fall coming off the summit and though he tried to carry on, when the adrenaline wore off it was game over, as he could barely walk. A shame, but these things happen - – we’re just pleased he got down in relatively one piece. “

Cyclo Cross Events. Worth a look, as Martin Stocks sends:- “ I have taken part in a couple of Audax events of just over 100K which have been excellent. I would highly recommend to any Club members who do also take to the bike. There is a very comprehensive calendar . The events are in my opinion a good parallel to fell running in that they are low key and require self-sufficiency. They are also much cheaper than Sportives (£4 instead of £20+) and include a spread of food and tea/coffee at the finish to rival any I’ve encountered at races. Not that I’m encouraging runners to move over to riding, but if they want to try something challenging but different…………”
