Wharfedale TTT – results. This is a good AM – 12.5miles !!!! — fell course, from Kettlewell. Low-key, a smaller field, so soon spread out and a need to find your own way round. Plenty of rough unpathed stuff , needing care to climb back up to Great Whernside from the far side, and to find the way home. A team of 4 this year, and if it’s a quiet weekend in the Peak, well worth travelling.
Osmotherley Phoenix:- Another of these long Ultra Series events. Results. This one around the N Y Moors. Carshare’s spies report that Nicky (around 5h 20m) took 20 minutes of her previous best!, and that Mick Cochrane had a very good run. Indeed, Nicky is 1st Lady, and Mick – 1st V60.
Chevy Chase – results. “Only the two Dark Peakers there, with a small but effective Eryri contingent to swell the local ranks. Math Roberts of Eryri first home, having tracked John Boyle for most of the route, and running down NFR man Paul Sanderson on the road to the finish.”
Congratulations to “Dave Sykes and Ben Robson did a self supported BG Saturday, starting 3am and clockwise. “
“In the absence of a long lake district race this weekend Ben Robson and I completed an unsupported BG round leaving the Moot Hall at 3am. The weather was fine but very windy. Ben proved the BG is really a very big walk by not running after the Fairfield descent until time pressure dictated a last 2 km jog. It went dark on Brandreth and my torch gave out soon after. We finished in 23h 52.”
Skiddaw – results . Only Callum there, but with a very high placing of 4th.
Cliffhanger – results.
Peakers Stroll -
Saunders MM . – results. With so many classes, far too complicated for me to sort out. But some familiar names – very high up….
Monday – Hathersage
Trunce (6) – results
Relays:-
Ian Hodgson:- Lynn has “just put in our entry for Ian Hodgson Relay. Asked for usual Senior Men, Senior Ladies, M Vets. Limited to 60 teams this year so we’ll have to see what happens.”
FRA Relays:- Details are due in the imminent Fellrunner. They’re being held in Fife, just round the hill from Dollar. As yet we don’t know the categories, but Senior Men, Senior Ladies and M Vets would seem essential. It might well be worth groups asking around amongst themselves to see if there’s enough travelling support to justify asking for a Ladies Vet Team, (their Championship performances this year have been so strong) and would enough MV50’s travel, if we were able to enter a Team?
Calderdale:- Eventually it would be Senior Men, Senior Ladies, M Vets – and hopefully once again the “B” Team – Willy has kindly offered to organise our “B” Team, and there’s every reason for it to be a good one.
