Danefield Relay:-
A very good relay event round Otley Chevin woods. 3miles each lap, plenty of running, some teams pre-organised, most runners looking for partners on the night.

Sedbergh 3 Peaks -  English Championship (4) – British Championship (2). 2nd Seniors and 3rd V40, it seems.  As hot as they come, but thankfully only a short race, and a very good, hard one at that. sensibly the stringent kit requirements were relaxed, many runners going round without a top on. Results weren’t available, but from the prize giving  –Tim Davies won,  Stuart was 4th, Matt Speake – 5th, Lloyd-8th. We were given first Team, but this may only be for three runners. Five are needed for the Championships, and this will be have gone to  Pudsey,  hopefully with us2nd .
Lloyd was 1st V40, but Borrowdale will most likely have taken the Team points.
The Vet Ladies superbly propped up the Ladies Team, no Senior ladies???   Eryri were given the Team prize, but being Welsh, ineligible for English Championships, so our 2nd place today goes well.  No need to worry about the Vets Team – Judith was 1st V40, Pippa 2nd, and Liz – 1st V45, tremendous results.
Keith, Roy and Dicky got the points for the V50, no idea how that fared…though it may be 4th Team.

Winder Grind:- This was a Championship race in 1997, run in similar hot conditions. An awful race which has never been repeated, thankfully. It was the same ascent of Winder, off the end going to Arant Haw the same, but at that little col, we broke back down right to that farm gate on the outrun. Then repeated it twice more to make three laps. The third climb of Winder was a right hot, wobbly affair. I was first from DPFR, 56th out of 114 – how our standard and participation has improved. Andy Dickenson was 65th, Pete Dyke – 89th, Colin Henson – 91st. No team points and no Ladies. But also running were Joe – – 16th, John Hunt – 29th, and many other stalwarts still running yesterday…

Pendle Cycle Fest:-  Martin Stocks did this nearly 100mile thing on Saturday, have a read of his report, here  .  And a reminder that anything goes onto Carshare, whatever you’ve been up to – there’s much more happening than fell running..
Our friends in Clayton help out with “ It was a really well organised enjoyable event – 95 miles on the Garmin, with about 10,000′ of climb! It’s a bit off-putting when you’ve done nearly 90 miles & you’re just starting to cycle up to the Nick of Pendle, knowing that there are 2 nasty sharp climbs after that! I eventually crawled over the line in 7 hours 40 mins – very satisfied to have finished without getting off to walk.”
