“Not the Nationals” – Andy sends: "Due to the close proximity of several big races, only 15 hardy soles gathered for the re-birth of Not The Nationals, but it was a quality field none the less. Race Steward Alan Yates decided to shorten the course, to avoid any bramble thrashing and bolting horses and must be congratulated on the ingenuity of marking the course with flour on top of piles of horse and dog **** to ensure no ‘ner do wells/chavs’ removed the course markings. In view of the shortened course, the race was extended to 3 laps with the option of the slight short cut at the top of Den Bank on laps 2 & 3. Rob soon dispelled any worries of not taking it seriously after turning up in sports attire and not bermudas & sandals, by blasting away on lap 2 to deserved victory. Rachel glided her way through the field to worryingly appear in my mirrors late on and gain an excellent 7th place and 1st lady. Ex-ex-ex-Chairman Dave Holmes gets the award for furthest distance ran after being abandoned in the Loxley Valley and having to run all the way to the race. Thanks to Alan for marking the course and taking the timings, and to Willy and Paul for ensuring photographic evidence was taken of anyone short-cutting Den Bank or neshing out of the water jump."
Results will be on the main website when the current technical glitch is solved…

Kinder Downfall :- results. “A good win for Dave Aucott. Es Tresidder 2nd. Whatever the results may show, an outstanding performance from Ian Winterburn following on from a sub-four hour three peaks the day before (and Thursday’s Hartcliff Hill) – we’re all expecting a PB from him for the Monday series! And a welcome return to the hills for Glen Irving, going better than ever despite his work imposed exile in the southern flatlands.”
