Herod Farm – results .See Comments for “Unfortunately Glossopdale made a mistake with the results last night. The Dark Peak raid was actually very successul, though apparently it seems Ian was missed in calculating the team result, which we actually won. (1st, 2nd and 23rd=26 points, which less than the combined 32 for Maccelesfield.) Unlucky Mr. Winterburn! (though you wouldn’t have wanted the mass produced liquid called lager;rescue ale is a far finer beverage!) Good race, and a cracking evening.”

Summer Series (2)Back Tor and a Little Beyondresults

Silent Valley – Mourne Mountains. British Championship (1)
Back late Sunday, so apologies for those missed e-mails. Just wait till the photos appear, I’ll put out a selection and make everyone jealous. So who remembered the suntan cream then? There’s good races, hard races, and beating them all are the Ireland races. This was excellent in every way, based in the Silent Valley , below the dam wall. Two bits of flat running, across the two dam walls. Stunning scenery, superb course, very hard running, ups, awkward downs, peat, bogs, everything. A week earlier it might have been cancelled due to the snow…
Team Results.   Men 2nd, Ladies 2nd, Vets 2nd. Unofficial V50’s – 1st.
Full Results . Out for the prizes were Lloyd 1st Vet 40, Liz – 2nd? LV40, Roy Gibson – 3rd V50 (under the local prize awarding rules..)

Most Competitors Prize:- this was awarded on the pre-entry list. Counting out the finishers, Eryri – 18 runners : DPFR – 18 runners : Calder Valley – 15 runners. A marvellous turnout, thanks to everyone ( and for the bottle of wine…) . Next year is due to be the long race, and whether it’s Spelga, or the last long, Mourne Mountains, it will be magnificently hard….Is this our best ever turn-out?

Best run of the event? Without a shadow of doubt, that goes to Ken Taylor, 2nd V60 (by a few seconds). That gives hope and inspiration to anyone involved with major cancer treatment.

Wardle Skyline – results  John Hunt – 2nd, and some more regulars over by Rochdale.

Loughriggresults  Brave? people doing this before Ireland….

Calderdale Hike:- Awaiting full results, but Willy kindly sends :- “John Morgan won it in, I think, 5.22.  Mick Cochrane 6.53.  Dave Bollington 7.07.  Julie Gardner  7.17-ish.  Willy Kitchen 7.23-ish.”

BG attempt on 28/29 May   Lloyd sends:- “This request for help from friends in Goyt Valley Striders and Buxton AC:  , Mark R, Andy P from Striders, and Rik from Buxton AC. Mark is going for 50 tops, the other 2 are just working on a fast schedule. Do you know anyone that might be able to help. We need fast strong runners  because they are all good distance runners (Andy has the record for the Bullock Smithy for instance). Contact: al@alfitz.mail1.co.uk
