It’s a superb weekend, based around Newcastle beside the Mourne Mountains. Although the race is AS, there’s no harder AS in the calendar. Three big, big climbs, no flat anywhere. Everything is in the NIMRA Website.

Accommodation:- is either B/B – have a look around Tourist Information, etc, but in the past the Youth Hostel has been booked –
BUT – Phil sends that “It’s full. Calder Valley have booked 24 beds!! She can fit people in on the Thursday, but not Friday and Saturday. Calder Valley have not confirmed numbers so have us down on the reserve list for 6 beds, she will let me know but it will be worth looking elsewhere I’d say. “

Saturday Evening Meal. – is essential to go along, for the prizes etc and drinks. The meal is decent, but needs a top-up beforehand and after.
Car Hire:- DT – I looked at one of these price comparison sites, but then went direct to the firm best quoted, that was better still. We ended up with Budget, worth a try.
