Can you  post this on carshare  :- “Can someone look in Jim’s shed to see if he has built a portable teleporting machine, having been spotted on Blisco he next appeared luxuriating on a post at the finish.” Was it a bird? was it a plane? no its Flyingfultonman”.
   DT – Well Jim???
– – – – Who responds with:- “Great to be running a bit again after a couple of months in the doldrums. I particularly enjoyed Chris Barber’s jump down the 12 ft step! A lovely weekend at Chapel Stile for 12 of us, the Coniston Bluebird went down well on Saturday night …..”
– – – – And a fitting response from Chris – see Comments….

Another tremendous Ambleside effort to keep the race going, after heavy Friday rain. The campsite had been overnight awash, the usual field was waterlogged so parking at the New D G, and walk along. Very wet and heavy across Martcrag and the grassy drops, many slippy rocks, so several unfortunate cuts, including a nasty looking knee from Janet. A bit of mist around Bowfell and the Crinkles, but not too bad at all.
Rob Jebb was well clear 1st, but superb runs coming in the nearby positions – Alan 6th – 1st V40 : John 7th : Matt 9th : Joe 14th ; Mike 14th. Janet 2nd Lady, with that hurting knee. A special mention for Ashley and Roy Gibson, getting their final counter in for the Lakeland Classics. Have we done enough to overhaul Borrowdale? And I’m thinking this is our largest number of successful completions of this Series.

I see that Richard Hopkinson has been deprived of his temporary 1st V60 position…..

A prestigious 1st Team, and there have been several famous wins in Big Races – Langdale, Ennerdale, Skiddaw, Wasdale, Lingmell – any more I’ve missed off?
That’s the end of major Lakes Races this year, just Dunnerdale , so we await the 2009 Calendar and hope to keep it going next year.

Rhinogs:-
Lloyd was 8mins clear, following on from his win the previous week at Arenig Fawr….
(I’ve never found the Peris Horseshoe Full results….)

Vasque Series FINAL League Table:- These ultra long things, far beyond us lesser mortals,
    14th     Nicky.                   1st Lady
    25th.    Mick Cochrane.      2nd V60
    71st     Matt Davis
    103rd   Dominic Fletcher
   Anyone I’ve missed off?

Coming Soon:-
FRA Presentation Evening:- Kendal, Saturday 8th November. Of course expense is an issue, understandably. Not that easy to slip home after the medals etc. But all our Men’s Teams are in the medals, and also individual medals to pick up – hope that someone else will keep us two company. And Steve and Lesley Storey!
