Castleton:- Martyn Goodwin has excellently sent most results along…..

Blencathra results:-     With Jim Bell 20th, 71.47mins.

Calver Results:-  I’d not expected them on the website, so thanks to Ian for sending them through.

Tansley Results :-  Mick Stenton – 2nd – has phoned them through – excellent++

Otley Chevin Results:- A real AS blast, 22mins for me,  starting in the town centre, up the cobbles, up the Chevin and blast back down again. A strong field, won by Andy Peace.

Trunce (4) Results:-

Duddon Long Results  – Another exceptional result from Janet – 11th, 7 mins inside her old record from last year…And these Lakeland Classics were once in doubt due to low numbers? How things have changed, with  245runners lining up.  A very good DPFR turnout, warm, hot at the start but then some cloud cover. Dry, they’d had very little of our rain during the week.  Next Classic is Ennerdale in a fortnight – though Durisdeer is on the same day. And then Wasdale for the SuperLongs. Hope that so many of us will support the Series.
Short Race Results  – with 3rd place from Steve Storey.
Photos – Steve has sent some photos through – going direct onto DPFR photos….

Coniston Gullies:-  The short and right sharp BOFRA races are getting going, Calendar.  These gullies can be seen from the village. the fierce hillside east of Mouldry Bank.  Mark Salkild finishing 28th in 21:05mins

Killington Sports Results:- Another BOFRA race. From Nigel Sanderson:- "Whilst up in the Lakes last week with the family we stumbled upon Killington Sports. Great evening out the kids did the under 8 100 yd races and were amused watching the wrestling whilst I did the straight up and down fell race. Tough little race, made harder by the fact it was all runnable (well if you’re fitter than me it was!) I finished 20th in 14.14 out of 40 starters…although my excuse is I may have done a little better if I’d not finished 4th in the 100yds semi final 30 mins earlier!! Couple of good runners upfront, won by Tom Addison (seemed to be a lot of Addisons in the race!!) followed very closely by Ted Mason.
Fortunately I wasn’t tempted by the wrestling, I ‘m too heavy for the under 11 stone, which was billed as a ‘World Championship’ and didn’t fancy messing with the under 13 stoners who looked like they spent all day carrying cattle around. The whole event was compered by Roger Ingham who had a ‘battered’ nose after what he said was a disagreement with a door earleir in the day!! All in all well worth doing and in a world full of new technology it was like a step back in time to good old fashioned entertainment in a beautiful part of the country."

Carneddau Results:-  much smaller field than last year….only Dave Harrison running.

Wincle Trout Results :- Pete Tapping sends:- "Seems I was the only brown shirt there! Venue moved to the top of a hill out of the village – which eased car parking difficulties and the half mile hike up and down hill to the car park, but detracted a lot from the atmosphere of the fete. 300 runners and escorts outnumbered locals considerably. Run longer,stiffly down at the start and up at finish to join the old course. Not an improvement. Still giving away a trout to all runners though."
