After the superb performances of our Vets teams in the Ian Hodgson Relay and the FRA Relay it would be a great achievement to \”do the triple\” by completing a victory in the Calderdale way. It won\’t be easy as we want to win the open race too! So I suggest that we go for a maximum strength open team which I reckon might mean losing 4 or 5 of our best Vets.

I\’ve only confirmed the following so far as available

Mike Nolan
Mick Stenton (453rd race of the season)
Phil Crowson (must run with a grown-up)
Simon Patton (could run in open team)

Please email/phone with offers of availability along with preferred legs – you must have run that leg before or be prepared to recce it thoroughly. Preferred partners too please!

Selection will be based on form and experience. I\’ll probably pay close attention to local league results and even cross country races rather than the club champs as these are more representative of the terrain covered in the race. Apparently the sheep that won the club champs was only 34 so isn\’t eligible – he was first claim for Pennine anyway 🙂

I hope to get the team finalised by mid November
